I used to work at Wells Fargo not that long ago...and while I was there, a few coworkers and myself created a video at work to spoof the infamous Beverly Hills 90210 intro.
See video for yourself here:
Today, I got a phone call from two of the guys that were in it...long story short...they were reprimanded with an Informal Warning by their supervisors for the video!
Apparently, Wells Fargo has a department or group where their job is to comb the Desert! (spaceballs reference..ha) the internet to find anything related to Wells Fargo. Well, they found my video on YouTube..and they werent too happy about it. They ended up reporting this to upper management in the dept I use to work and it snowballed down to the immediate managers. I'm sure us videotaping this while at work was a 'no-no'.....also..they might have assumed that it was us hurdling the cube walls when it really wasnt. I grabbed that from another video on the internet. And the video originally had a description as follows: "This is the intro to our upcoming reality show based on the Wells Fargo PCS Technical Department"
So these guys were asked to contact me to see about removing the video from the internet....but I refuse. I told them I'd meet them halfway (to avoid any other trouble for the guys that are still at Wells Fargo) by removing all Wells Fargo references. If it really was up to me.. I would have left all references there and possibly add a "Go to hell (insert manager's name I couldnt stand while I was there)"
Funny how this internet fame works both good and bad for ya!
